Diabetes Educator educates patients on the necessary lifestyle changes involved in a diabetes diagnosis, including nutrition, medication, physical activity and glucose testing. Collects patient data to monitor health status and proactively manage the patient's condition. Being a Diabetes Educator facilitates skill development and behavior modification so that the patient is able to successfully manage the disease. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Diabetes Educator typically required to be a Certified Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diabetes Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     You’re a clinician, a patient advocate, and an educator — and you excel at every one of them.

    In this role, you will provide clinical expertise to healthcare providers and patients through utilizing your clinical skills and education, helping them to improve patient outcomes. You will:

    • Deliver and document Clinic workflow-specific training plan covering Tempo Pen Platform features and functionality
    • Coordinate with Sales and other Field Representatives to confirm Clinic needs are identified and addressed. Partner with Sales and other Field Representatives to provide sales, account management, reimbursement, medical, outcomes, and technical specialized support when needed
    • Educate HCPs and Office staff on tools to support patient on-boarding and addressing technical issues using Lilly’s Customer Support Program, The Lilly Answer Center, or on-line Tempo resources
    • In the event a customer has reported a Product Complaint or Adverse Event, follow Lilly’s guidance on the appropriate documentation and reporting
    • Conduct training of new staff, and re-training of existing staff as needed based on personnel or Platform changes

    Essential Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree
    • Customer Support or Customer Training Experience
    • Understanding Diabetes and Insulin Management
    • Experience with Connected Diabetes Technologies (Pens, Pumps, BGMs, CGMs, etc.)
    • Ability to travel 50-60%

    Desired Requirements:

    • Prior clinical experience in the treatment and management of diabetes
    • Diabetes Educator Certification
    • Prior Sales, Clinical Educator,or Training Experience for Medical Devices

    The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $127,500. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
