Development Director manages an organization's fundraising strategies, campaigns, capital development initiatives, and operations to support the overall organizational development and revenue objectives. Implements donor stewardship programs to identify, develop, retain, and nurture a portfolio of individual and institutional donors. Being a Development Director works to develop potential corporate or governmental partnerships and grant funding opportunities. Creates collaborative coordination between staff and internal stakeholders to plan events and communications to increase donor engagement.     Job Overview: The Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association (DNDA) seeks a highly motivated and experienced Interim Housing Director to oversee our housing portfolio on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housing management, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis. This position plays a critical role in reviewing and summarizing housing regulatory agreements, preparing financial reports, establishing property management procedures, and contributing to the overall health and sustainability of DNDA's housing portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review Housing Regulatory Agreements: Thoroughly examine existing housing regulatory agreements and produce concise one-page summaries to ensure compliance and inform strategic decisions.
    • Portfolio Health Tracking: Develop and implement industry-standard metrics and documentation to monitor and report on the health of DNDA’s housing portfolio.
    • Monthly Financial Oversight: Coordinate with property accountants to receive monthly financial reports. Review, prepare, and present these financials to the DNDA Board of Directors, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
    • Monthly Operational Oversight: Coordinate with regional property manager to receive operational reports from each site in the portfolio to produce a report for the DNDA board of directors property development committee.
    • Committee Meeting Participation: Lead the property development committee meetings and keeping the board of directors accountable to reporting out at monthly board meetings.
    • Property Management Development: Play a pivotal role in establishing new property management processes within DNDA, aimed at bringing property management inhouse.
    • Recruitment Support: Assist in the recruitment process for new property manager companies, including interviewing candidates and evaluating their suitability for the role.
    • Maintenance Documentation: Collect detailed specifications for each building in DNDA’s portfolio. Create comprehensive documentation to assist maintenance staff in performing their duties effectively.
    • Oversee Staff: Oversee all maintaince personal for the affordable housing and commercial properties owned by DNDA.
    • Board of Directors Meetings: Lead and/or attend board meetings for Brandon Court and West Seattle Resource Centers board of directors meetings and provide a report for executive director.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in housing management, property management, or a closely related field.
    • In-depth knowledge of housing regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare financial reports and performance metrics.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effectively presenting information to the Board of Directors and working with diverse teams.
    • Proven ability to manage projects, from conception through implementation, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
    • Experience in staff recruitment and development, especially in property management contexts.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
