  • The Santa Barbara Museum of Art, a leading West Coast art museum, presents internationally-recognized collections and exhibitions and a broad array of cultural and educational activities.

    Join us in this temporary position supporting our Director of External Affairs and supporting our Development Department with general administrative, clerical, and events assistance including office tasks of telephone inquiries, correspondence, processing invoices, maintaining files and checklists, and serving as liaison with other departments and staff on daily operational matters.

    Requires excellent organizational abilities, experienced office work, general knowledge of non-profit fundraising preferred, and demonstrated writing capabilities. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Photoshop and Raiser’s Edge preferable. Excellent proofreading skills, thoroughness and attention to detail, proficient computer literacy and systems management, ability to anticipate tasks, take initiative and set priorities effectively, are all required skills for the success of effectively supporting the department. BA and museum experience preferred.

    • Schedule: Full-time at 22 hours per week
    • Ability to adjust schedule to flex hours to support evening or weekend events.
    • Compensation: $20.00/hour
    • Includes partial benefits including vacation accrual, prorated holiday pay, 32 hours sick pay and 403b retirement plan eligibility with up to 5% Museum match after a year’s service.
    • Successful background check is required and proof of COVIS-19 vaccination.
