    The Job: The Development Data Coordinator provides crucial data support for the Development Operations team. This role ensures the integrity of MSI's fundraising database and its related systems in an effort to support the Museum's fundraising efforts. Essential duties include gift and membership processing as well as updating database records with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
     

    This is a hybrid position that requires occasional weekend and special event availability.
     

    Responsibilities

    • Process memberships and gifts in an accurate, timely, and secure manner.
    • Follow standardized procedures for data entry and data maintenance.
    • Provide backup to key Development Operations functions such as reporting, acknowledgement/receipting, and auditing.
    • Assist with donor-and member-facing volunteer opportunities on occasion and as needed.
    • Supports special projects and other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • One to three years of related experience in a nonprofit fundraising office.
    • Bachelor's degree is a plus.
    • Experience with relational databases such as Raiser's Edge or Salesforce, including an understanding of gift entry, opportunities, queries, exports, and lists is preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Skilled at maintaining confidential information with the utmost discretion.
    • Ability to work across teams to gather data, analyze information, interpret reports, and follow through as needed.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage tasks and projects as requested using spreadsheets, email, and project management software.
    • A strong collaborator who works well independently or on team projects.
    • Commitment to inclusivity and respect for the entire MSI community.
    • A working knowledge of different gift types, giving methods, and tax regulations related to the nonprofit industry.
    • Comfortable with Microsoft 365 tools such as Outlook, Teams, Asana, and Excel.
    • Ability to support occasional special events during events or weekends.
    • Language:
      • Ability to read and interpret documents such as company policies, plan documents, procedure manuals, etc.
      • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals.
      • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
    • Mathematical:
      • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages
    • Reasoning:
      • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
      • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Physical:
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
      • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
      • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
      • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    • Work Environment:
      • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; cold; and heat.
