    • Verifying the publication titles and identification of items prior to stocking retail shelves. Crosscheck stocking list to verify requirements of replenishment.
    • Recording all information from batch sheets into various tracking systems for productions count.
    • Determining and performing required actions to resolve order discrepancies.
    • Using an ordering tracking system to facilitate order management.
    • Operating a high-density carousel storage system to aid in sorting, retrieving, and storing items. Assisting with ensuring efficient warehouse and storage management.

    Qualifications

    To qualify for the Supply Technician, PG -2005-5, you must meet the following requirements:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-04 or higher grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must include:
    • Resolving errors relating to shipment labels, billing, and/or sorting of packages;
    • Sorting, and retrieving items from a carousel storage system; and
    • Metering packages in accordance with US Post Office or United Parcel Service regulations.

    Education: Successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

    Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the number of successfully completed semester hours by 120, or the number of completed quarter hours by 180 hours. Add the two percentages.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may be used for this grade level.
