May require an associate degree. Additionally, Desktop Publishing Operator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Summary
The T2 Bindery Operator is capable of most job makereadies and set ups, operating and maintaining adequate pace of operation of commercial print bindery equipment for the purpose of transforming blank or printed materials into high quality, finished, cut and folded shapes and sizes that meet and exceed customer's strict specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
SAFETY Required to wear hearing protection when press equipment is running. Gloves and/or goggles are to be worn when working with chemicals. Hearing protection is available when working on other machinery. Employees must adhere to the EPC Personal Safety and other safety-related policies.
REASONING, MATH and LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to reason through situations that require routine decisions during operation of his or her equipment. When a situation arises that requires additional help the employee should immediately contact the Supervisor. Knowledge of basic English, math and minor computer skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Required to stand and use hands to lift and handle the product. Frequently reaches with their hands and arms. Occasionally walks, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Frequently lifts between 10 - 25 pounds and occasionally lifts from 25 - 75 pounds. Occasionally moves product from one department to another or within the department by pushing or pulling mail carriers, pallet jacks and waste hampers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Press and Finishing departments are climate controlled. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level in the work area is moderate.
