Design Manager manages a team of CAE specialists that support the design engineering and development of products, components, or structures. Collaborates with engineering teams to provide CAE design, analysis, and modeling support. Being a Design Manager utilizes CAE tools to facilitate benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, and testing protocols. Evaluates project results to design, develop, and implement guidelines and procedures to achieve engineering efficiencies. Additionally, Design Manager requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a director. The Design Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Design Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager (PM) provides comprehensive support to the company’s project management and field staff teams on designated commercial construction projects. They are Chapman’s point person during interactions with subcontractors, design teams, vendors, and clients. A Project Manager develops project budgets and proposals, coordinates subcontractor activities, develops and tracks performance against project schedules, manages project financials, and collects all closeout information.
