Provides expertise and technical leadershipfor benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, testing protocols, and optimization utilizing CAE design and analysis techniques and tools. Being a Design Director develops and optimizes CAE methodology, including guidelines and standards, to increase design process efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Design Director typically reports to senior management. The Design Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Job Summary:
    House of Design LLC, a robotics system integrator in Nampa, Idaho, is seeking an exceptional individual who can immediately impact our efforts to develop and implement cutting edge automated solutions.

    The House of Design Field Service Specialist position is responsible for conducting House of Design’s system installation and deployment in customer facilities. The Field Service Specialist position will also be responsible to conduct Preventive Maintenance & unplanned downtime customer site visits as needed. While not traveling to customer sites the Field Service Specialist assists with covering the Customer Success/Support phone line, outgoing system quality inspection, system packaging and shipping, and provides production assistance to the Manufacturing Operations Team when appropriate.

    Responsibilities:
    • Travel to customer sites to perform:
      • Mechanical and electrical installation of House of Design automated systems
      • I/O checks and mechanical operation audits of assembled systems
      • Preventative maintenance and unplanned downtime repairs
    • Work with a “Safety First” attitude with constant adherence to regulatory, House of Design and customer safety standards.
    • Assist in finished goods quality inspections.
    • Coordinate and participate in packaging and shipping of finished systems.
    • Operate as an Assembly Technician (electrical and mechanical) to help meet production goals when needed.
    • Install and deploy systems utilizing industry best practices adhering to HoD policies and procedures.
    • Maintain a highly professional appearance and manner both at HoD facilities, while traveling, and in customer facilities.

    Requirements:
    • Associate degree from a mechanical or electrical trade school preferred.
    • 2-3 years minimum experience in production and/or deployment of advanced automation systems or equivalent combination of experience and education or certifications.
    • Desire to innovate and create with a willingness to stretch the limits of what’s been done before.
    • Strong mechanical and controls electrical skills.
    • Industrial robot experience a plus & ABB robot experience preferred.
    • Must have acute attention to detail and an insistence on high quality workmanship. Must be a team player.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to work as part of a dynamic and cohesive team.
    • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to adapt to varying projects and priorities daily.
    • Must have basic computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite recommended.
    • Must be willing to work overtime as required to support team, departmental and company goals.
    • Ability to travel for up to 2-week durations, occasionally with relatively short notice.
    • 50% travel required with up to 75% at peak times. Will strive to keep travel at 50% as much as possible.
    • Current passport or ability to obtain a passport required.
    Physical Demands & Work Environment:
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, repetitive movement, reaching (including but not limited to above shoulder reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leaning, and twisting.
    • Able to lift 50 pounds in accordance with HoD safe work practices.
