Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available
- Assist the dentist during procedures by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient support
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms following infection control protocols
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office reception area as needed
Skills:
- Solid understanding of dental anatomy and terminology
- Proficient in infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures
- Experience as a dental receptionist is a plus
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Ability to operate CAD software for dental imaging is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred
- Current CPR certification
- X-ray certification in accordance with state regulations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
