Summary
Responsible for performing Deli Counter Clerk services per the Deli guidelines and per the direction of the Deli Manager and Evening Deli Manager.
Deli Counter Clerks must be able to promote Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by greeting customers, offering assistance to customers, and answering customer questions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Greet each customer with a smile and offer assistance.
Responsible for customer service along the deli counter, packaging and weighing deli products for customers.
Wiping down the glass windows, salad bar, and hot bar.
Responsible for food preparation and loading the hot and cold counter.
Filling the hot bar and salad bar, as needed.
Keeping the deli clean, washing dishes, maintaining proper sanitation in the department, and taking out compost, garbage, and recycling. (Age restrictions may apply.)

Requirements
Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years old.
Must be able to clearly speak, read and write the English language.
Must be honest and dependable.
Must be friendly, outgoing and able to greet customers, offer assistance, and suggest products.
Must be able to work independently and have good problem solving and decision making skills.
Must have excellent communication skills including reading, writing, basic math, and exemplary customer service skills.
May be required to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and weekends.
Must be willing to learn the characteristics and qualities of the products and services Mackenthun's offers.
Minimize department losses due to improper product handling, storage, damage, and spoils.
Perform duties in a manner that safeguards company equipment, resources and image.
Must be able to mulit-task and prioritize projects.
Physical Demands
Constant standing/walking/talking/hearing and seeing 100% of the time. Serving food. Frequent bending at the waist, reaching arm's length/ above shoulder/below waist, crouching/stooping/kneeling, climbing stairs, and lifting and/or pulling/pushing up to 50 lbs.
Equipment Used
Equipment that cannot be used: fryer, fryer filter, knives, ovens, steam table, combi oven, stove top, dishwasher. (Age Restrictions Apply)
Will use cleaning supplies, sink and mops.
Work Environment
Work performed in a variety of indoor environments including refrigerated, wet, hot, cold and around machine/equipment noise on a terrazzo floor.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Employees work as a team and individually in a smoke-free facility.
Occasionally loud, in the kitchen, fast-paced environment.
