Decision Support Project Specialist provides technical guidance and solutions to user groups working with decision support software and data tools. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Being a Decision Support Project Specialist delivers user training and coaching to facilitate problem solving and decision making using hardware, software, datamarts, and data warehouses. Plans, coordinates and monitors projects to prepare, test, and deploy decision support tools, reports, dashboards and models to users. Additionally, Decision Support Project Specialist troubleshoots and resolves problems. May have specialized knowledge of a particular software product tool or module that is utilized. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Decision Support Project Specialist is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Duties and responsibilities:
Project Read is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Marketing and Community Engagement Specialist through the AmeriCorps VISTA program. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Read team to enhance outreach campaigns, improve recruitment efforts, and strengthen community partnerships to combat intergenerational illiteracy and poverty.
● Familiarize yourself with the organization’s current marketing tools and efforts.
● Facilitate Project Read's use of its $10K/month Google Ads grant.
● Create strategies to enhance volunteer and student recruitment in both Salt Lake and Utah Counties.
● Evaluate the impact of marketing and recruiting efforts, tracking their effectiveness, and proposing specific program implementation recommendations.
● Conduct research and actively pursue community funding opportunities from various sources, including individual donors, corporate sponsors, and grant funds.
● Build and maintain relationships with in-kind donors, encouraging non-cash donations that align with Project Read's mission and contribute to long-term sustainability.
● Document all efforts made to encourage funding, including interactions with potential donors, grant applications, and outcomes of those efforts.
● Develop strategies and initiatives contributing to the long-term sustainability of Project Read's funding, such as creating sustainable fundraising campaigns or identifying new funding streams.
● Become familiar with existing community partners and referral sources, streamlining the student intake process to assist with recruitment efforts and improve the overall referral experience.
● Research local organizations and events aligning with Project Read's mission, identifying collaboration and participation opportunities.
● Maintain event tabling supplies and promotional materials to enhance the presentation at student and volunteer recruitment events.
● Conceptualize and execute an appreciation event for both existing and new community partners, aiming to strengthen relationships and show appreciation for their support, focusing on building long-term partnerships.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
● Experience with Google Ads or similar digital marketing platforms is a plus.
● Passion for community engagement and social impact.
