Decision Support Project Specialist provides technical guidance and solutions to user groups working with decision support software and data tools. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Being a Decision Support Project Specialist delivers user training and coaching to facilitate problem solving and decision making using hardware, software, datamarts, and data warehouses. Plans, coordinates and monitors projects to prepare, test, and deploy decision support tools, reports, dashboards and models to users. Additionally, Decision Support Project Specialist troubleshoots and resolves problems. May have specialized knowledge of a particular software product tool or module that is utilized. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Decision Support Project Specialist is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Under the direction of senior systems and software engineers, the Engineer / Analyst will perform software development and integration of models into the distributed execution environment of IAMD M&S capabilities to include IAMDSIM and ETESIM. In addition to integration support, this position may include making updates and improvements to existing models of the various sensors, shooters, and BMC3 elements. Another key aspect to this position will require the individual to provide technical assistance in the preparation, conduct, post processing, results plotting/formatting, review, and reporting of analysis conducted utilizing IAMD’s M&S capabilities in support of the IFMC and IF/RCO government Project Offices.
The Engineer / Analyst must be able to serve as an individual contributor as directed by a technical lead, as well as work effectively in a team environment by collaborating with and interacting with other developers, engineers, and analysts.
