Position Overview: The Dean of Nursing provides visionary leadership and administrative oversight to the Nursing Department. The Dean is responsible for maintaining excellence in academic programs, fostering innovative teaching, and ensuring the success and development of faculty, staff, and students within the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
1. Develop and execute a strategic plan for the School of Nursing in alignment with the institution's mission and goals.
2. Promote excellence, growth, and sustainability of all academic programs within the school.
3. Advocate for the school at the university, local, state, and national levels.
Academic Oversight:
1. Ensure accreditation standards and professional nursing standards are met or exceeded.
2. Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and improvement processes.
3. Support and promote inter-professional education and collaboration.
Faculty and Staff Development:
1. Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse and qualified faculty and staff.
2. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment conducive to teaching, learning, and research.
3. Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship opportunities.
Student Success:
1. Advocate for and support student recruitment, retention, and success initiatives.
2. Promote a culture of academic excellence, research, and clinical practice among students.
3. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Research and Scholarship:
1. Advance the school’s research agenda, encouraging faculty and student involvement.
2. Secure funding and resources to support research activities and initiatives.

Community and External Relations:
