The Dean of the College of Nursing assumes a pivotal role characterized by both authority and accountability, serving as the steward of the academic, research, practice, and service endeavors within the College of Nursing. With fiduciary oversight, the Dean is vested with the financial authority requisite for the attainment of the College's overarching mission and visionary objectives.
Central to the Dean's mandate is the provision of dynamic leadership encompassing both undergraduate and graduate degree programs, as well as lifelong learning initiatives offered by the College of Nursing. In this capacity, the Dean is entrusted with ensuring the highest standards of curricular excellence, meticulous adherence to accreditation prerequisites, and alignment with the exacting standards set forth by the Missouri Board of Nursing. Furthermore, the Dean is charged with the provision of essential resources necessary to foster and sustain a culture of academic excellence.
Directly reporting to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Steven J. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A terminal degree in nursing or related field.
•Licensure or ability to be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Missouri, a compact state.
•10 years of progressively advanced administrative or leadership experiences in nursing a proven record of success in teaching, research/scholarship and service commensurate with the appointment as a tenured faculty member at the rank of Professor.
