Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Medicine typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Position Summary
    The Associate Dean for Faculty Development is expected to provide intellectual and collegial leadership in advancing the pioneering scholarship, discovery and teaching by the faculty of the world’s first school of philanthropy. The Associate Dean will help nurture a culture of collegial excellence and innovation, finding the opportunities to meet the needs of understanding philanthropy and preparing our students academically amidst the challenges of a rapidly changing context in both higher education and philanthropy.
    • Overseas Promotion and Tenure Process
    • Chairs, promotion and tenure committee
    • Arranges Faculty Annual Review Processes, including 3rd year review.
    • Arranges faculty mentors, and serves as backup mentor to all faculty.
    • Organizes election or assignment of faculty leadership roles, including President,
    President elect and faculty committee assignments.
    • Arranges faculty search committees.
    • Arranges peer review of teaching.
    • Maintains and updates faculty onboarding checklist.
    • Maintains current list of all faculty, core, affiliate adjunct etc.
    • Oversees application and selection of teaching awards.

    • Proposes and monitors relevant budget.


    Basic Qualifications
    The candidate must be a tenured faculty member (full rank preferred) with experience with promotion and tenure (P&T) as well as the faculty annual review (FAR) processes. The duties of the role include working with the school’s P&T Committee on P&T and 3rd year review cases and ensure that P&T criteria and policies/procedures are up to date.
