• Shall be credentialed and in good standing by relative credentialing agencies, if appropriate.
• Shall be qualified to teach in the field of study.
• Shall be effective in teaching the assigned subject material.
• Shall meet the required standards defined by the University.
• Shall have a minimum of 2 years' experience or equivalent in the practice of the area of study, or as required by accreditation agencies.
• Shall hold an MM, MFA, or Ph.D. degree in Music or other appropriate field of study.

• Be committed to excellence in teaching, service, professional growth, and scholarship.
• Teaches group performance, individual lessons, and/or ensembles.
• Assists the Director of the BFA in Musical Theatre as an accompanist for lessons, rehearsals, and performances. Duties may also include serving as Assistant Music Director and/or conductor for musical theatre performances.
• Utilizes a variety of proven teaching methods appropriate to the targeted domain of learning.
• Evaluate students and report progress.
• Participates in periodic review of course materials.
• Maintains appropriate expertise and competencies through continuing professional development and pursuit of scholarly activities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of school goals and objectives
• Participates in faculty meetings and serves on all appropriate programs and committees in the School of Creative and Performing Arts and the Theatre/Dance program.
• Maintains confidentiality following federal laws and program policy.
• Represents the school in a professional manner in all activities. 
• Participates in departmental recruiting.
