Dean of Fine Arts manages administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Fine Arts leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Fine Arts requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Fine Arts manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Fine Arts typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. As the Division Secretary, you will assist the Dean of Communication and Fine Arts with key division tasks in a caring, positive, and respectful environment as well as support full-time faculty and adjunct instructors with basic office tasks on a daily basis. Duties include, but are not limited to:- Maintaining files and supportive data in an organized system for the division
- Inputting scheduling data
- Producing and posting classroom schedules
- Coordinating the hiring process and orientation of new faculty
- Monitoring budget expenses and tracking invoices
- Performing additional routine office activities with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentially.
- Planning events for academic programs.

Required Qualifications- Demonstrated proficiency in computer operations and software systems including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all areas of the position
- Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications- 1-3 years of administrative experience working in an office environment
Physical DemandsAbility to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving, organizational skills with the teaching and learning process, and high level of interpersonal skills is preferred.Frequent contact with internal and external customers is required.
