Dean of Fine Arts manages administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Fine Arts leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Fine Arts requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Fine Arts manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Pacific Buddhist Academy (PBA) seeks a talented, highly qualified teacher for a part-time adjunct teaching position to high school students for Fine Arts classes as part of our Fine Arts program strand.
PBA mission statement asserts it will “prepare students for college through academic excellence; enrich their lives with Buddhist values; and develop their courage to nurture peace.” We believe these goals are most achievable when students learn to think and express themselves creative through a variety of media, including in the fine arts. Educating young peoples' aesthetic apprehension and ability to create advances the aims of peace.
Duties include: Prepare and teach classes in language arts and studio/fine arts such as drawing or painting to students in the 9th through 12th grades. Plan lessons, assess student abilities, and grade assignments and student projects. Communicate with parents and colleagues about student progress. Make available after-school studio time to students who need extra assistance. Participate in and chaperone school events. Attend and participate in staff and orientation meetings, departmental planning sessions, and parent-teacher conferences. Plan field trips and supervise students.
PBA seeks a part-time teacher for up to four separate electives classes with the following possible meeting times:

Duration: the part-time teaching position is for the 2024-2025 school year.
Position offered: part-time adjunct teaching position.
Compensation: compensation will be hourly and commensurate with experience.
