Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Job Summary/Basic Function:
    The Associate Dean of Student Life plans, develops, evaluates and provides leadership to the Student LIFE unit which provides comprehensive co-curricular programs and services to meet the diverse needs and interests of the Everett Community College Associated Student Body. General oversight of the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and Student Conduct process.

    Develop programs and services by identifying, directing, and guiding immediate and long range
    objectives and goals that meet the culturally diverse and changing student needs and interests.
    Ensure effective management of personnel by managing the processes to select, orient, train,
    evaluate, and provide professional development opportunities for assigned staff and student
    leaders.
    Supervise Student LIFE staff who direct student leaders in planning, organizing, implementing,
    and evaluating coeducational programs and services for EvCC students, campus community and
    surrounding service communities.
    Ensure the development and continuity of Student Government (ASB Executive Council and ASB
    Senate) by providing general direction, advising and guidance to student leaders regarding
    college policies and procedures and ensure full compliance with ASB documents.
    Serve as primary liaison between Student Government/Programs and the college by
    communicating student issues and concerns to the college administration.
    Serve as a key resource for the development of the annual S&A Fee Budget. Serve as budget
    authority, manage day-to-day fiscal operations and provide information about S&A Fee usage,
    policies and procedures.
    Supervise and direct the processes of the Student Technology Fee and Student Campus
    Enhancement Fee in conjunction with the IT and College Services departments.
    Provide general oversight of Student Publicity Services, Student Ambassador Program, EvCC
    Food Pantry and the co-curricular events and activities coordinated by the Trojan Activities
    Board and student clubs and organizations.
    Responsible for the annual review, organization and preparation of information in all ASB
    documents.
    Oversee the planning and implementation of the annual EvCC graduation ceremony.
    Represent and promote Student LIFE initiatives/events/activities by conducting classroom
    presentations and act as liaison to community groups when appropriate.
    Serve as a member of the Student Services Leadership and Deans' Council and participate in
    professional development with the Council of Unions and Student Programs (CUSP).
    Provide service to the college as a whole by serving on other college committees, attending and
    contributing to staff meetings, treating colleagues and staff with professional courtesy,
    maintaining confidentiality and practicing ethical work conduct.
    Seek opportunities for shared learning and partnerships among constituents and maintain
    positive and collaborative working relationships.
    Advocate for appropriate use of the Student Union, which includes the management and
    problem solving for student spaces.
    Provide general oversight of the scheduling of Student Union facilities in conjunction with the
    centralized scheduling system and Conference Services Department
    Provide general oversight of the distribution of materials on campus by approving the posting of
    promotional /informational materials on campus by students, college personnel and off campus
    organizations/agencies.
    Provide general oversight of the Behavioral Intervention Team and serve as the secondary chair.
    Provide general oversight of the Student Conduct Process and serve as the secondary Student
    Conduct Officer.
    Serve as a Title IX investigator
    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Masters degree in Student Personnel, Student Development or related field
    • 5 years comparable experience working with student groups, preferably in the community
    • college setting.
    • Experience in employee supervision, budget management, large and small scale event planning,
    • program development and assessment.
    • Experience with crisis management, behavioral intervention, or related fields.
    • Experience with student conduct
    • Experience that demonstrates awareness and understanding of the diverse socioeconomic,
    • cultural, disability, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of
    • community college students and employees.
    • Strong oral, written, public speaking and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively
    • manage conflict and facilitate difficult conversations.
    • Proven ability to develop and implement training programs for varied audiences.
    • Ability to demonstrate timely follow through on deadlines and deliverables; detail-oriented;
    • highly organized; commitment to achievement of agreed-upon targets.
    • Demonstrated project management and time-management skills including dealing with multiple
    • and competing deadlines, ability to prioritize, work under pressure, complete tasks on time and
    • be responsive to requests.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment and possess strong
    • team building and conflict resolution skills; Ability to establish and maintain positive
    • collaborative working relationships.
    • Proficiency with Google applications and Microsoft Office Suite.



    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Proficient in language(s) in addition to English.
    • Proficiency with learning and student management systems such as Canvas and PeopleSoft.
