Day Care Center Teacher oversees the educational activities within the day care classroom. Structures the curriculum and monitors students' progress to ensure activities are meeting the children's needs. Being a Day Care Center Teacher maintains a clean, safe, and nurturing environment. Holds conferences with parents to discuss child's growth and development. Additionally, Day Care Center Teacher typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Provide care for children, such as setting schedules and routines, feeding, changing diapers, and cleaning room and toys.
Supervise and lead children in all daily activities, including play time, reading, art, and meal times.
Complete and implement lesson plans using a state approved curriculum, daily.
Develop and encourage age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners, sharing, etc.
Maintain a safe learning environment by monitoring children's health and behavior (physical and emotional).
Strong communication skills. Must be able to communicate with parents and coworkers about children's needs.
Share the responsibility in the upkeep and care of the Day School. Help clean scheduled classroom, as well as common areas, such as the hallways.
Follow all policies and procedures set forth by administration.
Attend additional required trainings (online and in person). Must achieve 15 hours of training per year.
