Job Overview:

- Compensation: $12.75 - $15.00 per hour (based on experience and education)

Schedule:

- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Position Summary:

The Lead Teacher fosters a cooperative and productive learning environment in their assigned classroom. They collaborate with parents, colleagues, and community professionals to provide nurturing care and developmentally appropriate education to meet children's needs.

Requirements:

- Experience in education, childcare, or adult care
- Familiarity with Montessori teaching methods is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required
- Higher education preferred (Certificate/Certificate, associate degree, or equivalent)
- Child-related experience or degree is advantageous
- Knowledge of Montessori teaching methods is beneficial
- Maintain Iowa DHS approval for working in a licensed childcare center
- Basic computer and math skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment
- Passion for children and education
- Attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and assist in training
- Proven teamwork skills
- Flexibility to meet business needs
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to be on feet for up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend repeatedly
- First Aid & CPR Certification (Preferred)

- Provide high-quality care in a group setting
- Maintain positive communication with families
- Implement a stimulating, Montessori-based program
- Supervise and guide children's activities
- Assist in evaluating children's progress
- Attend to children's physical needs
