    Position Summary:

    The Sustainability Database Analyst will have responsibility for managing the collection and synthesis of enterprise-wide sustainability data for internal and external distribution in support of Danaher’s global sustainability program. The Sustainability Database Analyst will serve as the primary system administrator of Danaher’s enterprise sustainability data platform, supporting data collection processes, governance and analytics for internal decision making. This position will also support external reporting, providing data for Danaher’s regulatory filings, annual Sustainability Report and relevant sustainability ratings, and will support the external verification and assurance of sustainability data. This role will also have the opportunity to lead and operationalize strategic sustainability or data management projects (which have enterprise-wide, global span) to ensure data accuracy, integrity and auditability. This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a complex and dynamic environment with the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally and with senior leaders to advance meaningful and challenging business objectives.

    This is a full-time role in Washington, DC.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a sustainability data platform for the effective collection and synthesis of sustainability data from across the organization.           
    • Design data collection processes and governance, ensure data accuracy and integrity, and validate the quality of incoming data. This will involve collaborating with different internal teams or functions within the organization to gather and verify sustainability-related data, including Finance to support sustainability-related accounting.
    • Provide training and education to appropriate internal stakeholders to enhance awareness and understanding related to sustainability data and usability of the sustainability data platform.
    • Lead report generation, analysis and preparation of sustainability data for internal and external disclosure to include the annual Sustainability Report, sustainability ratings and regulatory disclosures.
    • Ensure data collection and reporting processes adhere to appropriate policies, procedures and controls in place relating to sustainability data.
    • Collaborate with IT resources to develop and maintain the sustainability data platform.
    • Engage with various external stakeholders, including sustainability organizations, industry groups, external partners, and regulatory bodies to stay updated on industry benchmarks, standards and best practices to ensure the sustainability data platform remains relevant and aligned with best practices.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, data science, sustainability, supply chain, or a related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in sustainability, carbon data management and reporting, and/or data analytics.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Experience defining data requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
    • High attention to detail and ability to handle large amounts of technical information and assessing data for quality, trends and performance
    • Experience in integrating data from a variety of sources via API and other methods
    • High level of proficiency in data analysis and data management tools with a dedication to data accuracy.
    • Ability to monitor changes to reporting criteria/standards and assess implications to the organization.
    • Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills. 
    • Ability to work independently yet manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to work well in a cross-functional, matrixed organization. 
    • Strong global business perspective with understanding of a multinational organization with multiple business units is preferred
    • Orientation to results, continuous improvement, and customer service with a high sense of urgency

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Strong knowledge of sustainability-related frameworks, metrics and regulatory standards, such as CDP, GRI and the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
    • A background and understanding of greenhouse gas emissions accounting and voluntary environmental reporting protocols is a plus (e.g. the GHG Protocol, Scope 3 Protocol)
    • Sustainability IT technology and testing experience.

    The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $80,000-$90,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
