As an Email Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategy, planning, development, execution, and analysis of email and SMS/MMS marketing campaigns. You will play a pivotal role in driving engagement, conversion, and retention through strategic email communication. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of creativity, analytical skills, and technical proficiency to optimize email marketing efforts effectively.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Campaign Strategy:
- Develop and execute comprehensive email and SMS marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals and marketing objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate campaigns with broader marketing and promotional initiatives.
- Segment email lists based on demographics, behavior, and other relevant factors to personalize content and maximize engagement.
- Work with ESP partners and company stakeholders to identify new campaign opportunities using ESP technologies.
2. Content Development and Optimization:
- Create compelling, relevant, and targeted email content, including copy, visuals, and calls-to-action.
- Conduct A/B testing on various elements of email campaigns (subject lines, content, layout, etc.) to optimize performance and drive key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
- Continuously refine content strategies based on data-driven insights and industry best practices.
- Work closely with the Woodcraft Creative Team to develop engaging and performing graphics.
3. Email Automation and Workflow Management:
- Utilize ESP automation tools and work with our partners to set up and manage automated email campaigns, drip sequences, triggered emails and SMS or MMS campaigns.
- Develop and maintain email marketing calendars, schedules, and workflows to ensure timely deployment and optimal campaign performance.
4. Performance Tracking and Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze key email marketing metrics, such as deliverability, engagement, conversion rates, and ROI.
- Generate regular reports on campaign performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Implement tracking mechanisms and attribution models to measure the impact of email marketing efforts on overall business objectives.
5. Compliance and Deliverability:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR) and best practices for email marketing.
- Monitor email deliverability and reputation metrics, proactively addressing any issues that may affect inbox placement and sender reputation.
6. Continuous Learning and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in email marketing.
- Experiment with new approaches, tools, and techniques to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of email campaigns.
7. Store Training, Support and Development:
- Train and support franchisee and corporate store managers and RFCs on the use of our ESP (Listrak).
- Offer guidance and instill a culture of proper email use and industry best practices.
- Work with the Creative Team to develop useful and performing creatives and templates for store use.
- Communicate with stores about monthly email marketing plans, changes to the program, improvements and any marketing email or SMS-related happenings relevant to their business.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- Proficiency with email marketing platforms (e.g., Listrak, Bronto, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Klaviyo or similar) and/or other marketing automation tools.
- Excellent copywriting and content creation skills, with an ability to craft engaging, persuasive messaging.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions. Knowledge of how to use GA4, SEMrush, GSC or similar analytics tools a strong plus.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and email design best practices is a plus.
- Should know how to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Adobe CS applications a plus (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver)
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and accuracy in all aspects of campaign execution.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in email marketing, with a strong track record of designing and executing successful campaigns.
