Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the DevOPS Manager, the Database Analyst position is part of the Operations & Technology Services Department and works with cross functional teams to create reports, build dashboards, and provide analyses that drives organizational decision making. This position works with internal, external, community health, financial, operational, and programmatic data to create deliverables that enable the public health workforce to protect and promote health within our community.
The data analyst will collect, analyze, interpret and present statistical data. This position will also plan, develop, and report analyses of various efforts, including population health, operational excellence, and health equity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the full life cycle of data analytics to include requirements gathering, analysis design, data collection and cleaning, performing analysis, and reporting findings.
Conducts research, analyzes data, and effectively communicates strategic data-driven recommendations.
Reports analytical findings and key takeaways using a clear and systematic approach and develops well-crafted presentations as needed.
Performs basic data management, data cleaning, data analysis, and data visualization using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, and PowerBI, including performing ad hoc requests.
Responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing recommendations to inform future data analytics projects.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure analyses are aligned with agency requirements.
Other duties as assigned, including responding to an emergency event.

Education:- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field.
Experience:- Three (3) years of experience working on data projects, including data query, cleaning, management, and analysis.
- Three (3) years of experience using data management tools like SQL, SSIS, SSMS.
- Three (3) years of experience using data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, ArcGIS.
- Three (3) years of experience packaging data analytics projects to effectively communicate recommendations for action.
- One (1) year of experience using statistical scripting languages like R or Python
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software, including advanced Excel skills.
- Proficient in business reporting and visualization (PowerBI, SSRS, etc.)
- Proficient in database languages (TSQL)
- Proficient in database systems (MSSQL, CosmosDB)
- Ability to be able to reconcile query results against source data.
- Knowledgeable in gathering requirements from end users.
