Database Engineer plans, designs, develops, and manages an organization's databases to ensure efficient data storage, access, and security. Collaborates with users to design, code, test, debug, and deploy databases that meet requirements and organizational needs. Being a Database Engineer writes queries, stored procedures and functions for database development. Monitors databases' performance, scalability, and security and modifies procedures to optimize database designs. Additionally, Database Engineer evaluates existing database design to determine necessary updates, performance tuning, and integration requirements. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of database technologies and solid coding and computer system skills. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Database Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Database Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Database Administrator - New Iberia, LA Corporate Office

JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor database backups, disaster recovery mirroring, database health, performance, security and updates.
- Maintain the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) server and software.
- Work with billing department to implement new electronic billing arrangements with customers.
- Coordinate billing changes with customers.
- Monitor ongoing EDI transmissions and diagnose problems.
- Assist with Helpdesk issues as needed.
- Other various duties as directed.
Qualifications
- Experience in MS SQL Server & Front end web development technologies.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal.
- Adaptability and Dependability.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Planning and organization.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic.
Education
- Bachelor’s in Information Technology
