Database Administrator jobs in Nevada

Link Technologies (LinkTechConsulting.com), is currently seeking a Database Administrator for an onsite, six-month contract (with possible extension) opportunity in Las Vegas, NV. The DBA will be responsible for managing the MSSQL/Oracle databases in Las Vegas and Boston (primarily Boston), as well as working with the ETL group moving data from Oracle and MSSQL to the warehouse.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 21 years of age or older to apply

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree, or three (3) years MSSQL/Oracle DBA experience

• A valid Nevada Gaming License is required and must be obtained before entering this position

• Experience with MSSQL and Oracle

• Experience with AlwaysOn

• Candidates must be able to cope with stressful situations and frustrated customers in a calm and appropriate manner

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision

• Adhere to internal IT policy and procedures as it relates to end user services operations

• Candidates may be required to lift/move PCs and other IT equipment up to no more than 40lbs.

• May also be required to push/pull carts greater than 40lbs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installs, upgrades, and maintains databases and application servers

• Executes performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of the databases.

• Manages and maintains back-ups and recovery process procedures.

• Installs and maintains database server, replication, and client environments

• Develops, reviews and tunes SQL and PL/SQL

• Assists in the design of DB structure, packages, and procedures

• Manages security access and controls

• Manages development and production environments

• Manages multiple images of productions environments

• Other management assigned duties as required.

Pay: $49.00 - $50.00 per hour
