We're seeking a dynamic individual to join us in safeguarding the heart of our operations – our donor database within Salesforce.

    JOB SUMMARY 

    The Database Administrator is pivotal in safeguarding the integrity of Make-A-Wish Michigan's donor database within Salesforce. They excel in enhancing database functionality by implementing top-tier practices for managing stakeholder data, ensuring its accuracy and completeness. Responsibilities also entail updating constituent records, precisely documenting donations, and pledges, and promptly generating donor acknowledgment letters and gift receipts.  

    In this role, the administrator produces weekly gift and pledge reports and creates customized reports and queries to support strategic decision-making. They also provide Salesforce training and technical support to chapter staff and interns. 

    Acting as the primary liaison, the administrator ensures adherence to donor care policies, processes, and procedures. This includes collaborating with Make-A-Wish America and informing and educating staff on updates and changes to the CRM. Moreover, the administrator serves as a technology liaison with the national helpdesk, managing hardware purchases, tracking, and setup for the local chapter. 

    The administrator undertakes projects as required, contributing to the overall success of the operations team and the organization's mission. 

    This position is currently hybrid working three days in the office.  

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Manage data in Salesforce's donor database to ensure record accuracy and completeness  
    • Record donations and pledges accurately, constituting approximately 25% of job duties 
    • Support an efficient, streamlined Donor Care process for the chapter, including gift entry into Salesforce and generating tax acknowledgement letters 
    • Maximize the functionality of the donor database by identifying and implementing best practices to manage all stakeholder data most effectively 
    • Create queries, exports and customized reports for Development, Marketing and Management/Operational Purposes 
    • Support the production of standard and custom reports (weekly, monthly, on demand). 
    • Work with other staff and/or consultants to identify standard reports that could be run by staff on their own.  Be point person for custom and one-time requests   
    • Develop custom mailing lists for direct mailings, event invites, and other fundraising or marketing initiatives 
    • Identify opportunities for and assist with donor cultivation and stewardship events by segmenting donors, pulling donor lists, and creating invitation lists 
    • Develop and deliver a system for revenue tracking, reporting, and forecasting  which supports informed strategic decision making  
    • Provide Salesforce training and technical support to chapter staff and interns
