Robert Half's client in Tucson, Arizona is seeking a Database Administrator. The DBA’s primary responsibility is to ensure high levels of quality, performance, and security of the company’s enterprise data systems. The DBA must be technically proficient with enterprise-level database systems, query and reporting languages, and application development processes. In addition to technical aptitude, the DBA also possesses excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. This individual will: • Develop, maintain, and support data reporting processes and data-driven applications • Support commercial accounting, equity trading, CRM, and back-office information systems • Develop and maintain data schemas, queries, procedures, and reports • Design new and improve existing relational databases • Create and manage data acquisition, migration, extraction and integration processes • Analyze business rules and customer requirements for new applications and enhancements • Administer relational database systems • Monitor server and database performance, address issues in a timely manor • Implement and maintain appropriate access and data security controls • Ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness • Apply periodic system updates, configure new servers • Collaborate with a team of system administrators and support specialists • Develop and maintain database procedural and structural documentation • Document system issues and resolutions in a clear manor • Present status updates to management, IT staff, and customers • Team with software vendors and contractors to troubleshoot issues and update systems • Research new technologies and present recommendations • Perform assigned maintenance tasks accurately and reliably with attention to detail.
