As a Sr. Regional Design Manager, you will be part of a global engineering leadership team, comprised of highly effective Architects, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Security and Control Engineers.     Key job responsibilities
    • Lead project teams of discipline leads to deliver quality and globally consistent data center designs across Americas within schedule and cost constraints while maintaining a high level of quality.
    • Able to influence internal stakeholders, internal customers (operations), and external consultants to address program wide design changes
    • Manage escalations from the design team and collaborate with procurement, construction and external consultants
    • Effectively communicate with AWS Leadership and external project partners, including the creation, tracking & reporting of metrics related to schedule, cost, and quality Throughout the lifecycle of the project.
    • Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce contract change orders without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
    • Drive speed, quality, and simplification by eliminating rework loops, reducing and automating manual work and hand-offs, identifying and implementing best practices across the business, and minimizing process variability through standardization and automation.
    • Create global best practice documentation and facilitate sharing across the globe.
    • Ability to motivate others to achieve impeccable quality in an explosive growth and deadline-driven environment.
    • Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with design consultants. Anticipated travel not to exceed 25%. International travel may be needed.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 6 years experience managing staff / consultants / vendors
    - 6 years of design experience in commercial / industrial / other complex technical projects.
    - 7 years of Mission Critical facility design experience.
    - 5 years leading sub-consultants and project teams.
    - Bachelor or Master's degree (MBA, Engineering, Architecture, Construction)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Professional Engineering/Architecture License
    - 3 years of large-scale Data Center facility design experience.
    - 10 years of experience directly related to data center design, construction, operations, and/or facility maintenance.
    - Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC or equivalent.
    - Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
    - Solid working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
    - Direct experience with design or construction administration of a variety of electrical distribution systems ranging from low voltage to high voltage.
    - Direct experience with delivering modular data centers design projects, including procurement and commissioning of facilities
    - Functional knowledge of industry standards, environmental codes, building codes and safety standards including International Building Code
    - Ability to communicate complex technical issues to senior leadership or non-engineers, develop basic business case financial projections and create performance metrics
    - Direct experience in negotiating with regulatory agencies regarding departures from building code and construction change orders
    - Working Knowledge of Sharepoint, BIM/Revit, Salesforce and Procore
