Data Warehousing Manager manages the daily activities of the team responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of data warehouse systems and projects. Oversees data design and the creation of database architecture and data repositories.     The Enterprise Data Strategy department, under the Office of Innovation owns the data strategy for the enterprise data lake house.


    The Manager of Data Engineering will lead and develop a data engineering team that transforms raw data into actionable intelligence. The manager is responsible for leading a team of data engineers and data modelers ensuring the scalability, reliability, usability, and performance of the data analytics platform. The manager will work closely with business leaders, Data Product, and Data Governance to ensure that solutions are providing the intended value and will partner with IT to collect and prepare high quality data. Collaboration with key partners, continuous improvement and analytical thinking is essential for success. The manager will provide strong and inclusive leadership in a manner that engages employees, establishes a culture of trust and accountability and creates a strong pipeline of talent.


    Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


    • Promotes, monitors and practices a value-first approach for data and analytics products that lead to actionable recommendations

    • Establishes relationships with business leaders to gain trust, advocate for analytics and data governance and to ensure analytics capabilities are appropriately enabled

    • Oversees activities related to an internal data and analytics portfolio including design and development of data pipelines, data lake and data products on the Azure platform

    • Collaborates closely with key stakeholders and IT to develop and enhance data products

    • Develops and oversees the execution of strategies for advancing data product maturity for multiple distributed analytics teams

    • Develops decision guides, standard practices, and style guides for data tools to promote consistent and optimal use of the tools

    • Establishes technical governance to ensure consistency and adherence to standards

    • Partners with IT to develop strategies for and ensure the health of tools, platforms and processes that enable data and analytics (e.g. vendor/license management, technology roadmaps, steady state support, administration)


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

    • 7 years of experience in data management and/or data engineering to include ETL, data warehousing, data lake, or similar duties

    • 3 years of supervising or leading data engineering teams or projects

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced experience with data analytics development and support

    • Hands on experience with analytics tools/technology (Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks)

    • Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Data Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus
