Data Warehousing Director directs the team responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of data warehouse systems and projects. Has overall responsibility for the development of data warehouse strategy, architecture and standards that meet business needs. Being a Data Warehousing Director ensures that new data platforms can be successfully integrated with existing warehouses, and that data warehouse systems fully support organization-wide data initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Data Warehousing Director typically reports to senior management. The Data Warehousing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Data Warehousing Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Coordinating UDOT’s Information Technology (IT) system purchases and budgeting.
Increasing focus on technology, innovation, transparency and data ethics.
Leading agency analytics methods that focus on advancing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
Leads UDOT’s Data Analytics & Governance Division.
Oversees the development, evaluation or review of plans and criteria for a variety of activities; assesses feasibility of proposed plans, projects and equipment.
Plans and manages projects and/or programs. Writes (or discusses) project/program plan(s), recommendation(s) and/or finding(s).
Sets goals, establishes priorities, manages resources, develops concepts and approaches, reviews projects progress and results; makes management decisions.
Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
Coordinates and/or acts as a liaison between agency or work unit and other agencies, work units, organizations, suppliers, etc.
Coordinates program activities, services, and/or program implementation with private providers, other governmental entities, program users, etc.
Recommends, advocates and/or implements new and/or changes to existing policies and procedures, laws or regulations.
