    Key job responsibilities

    • Apply non-destructive testing techniques to install, maintain, and troubleshoot all data center critical systems including : power distribution, mechanical, plumbing, building automation, and structural
    • Act as an ambassador for safety for the team and site
    • Remain cognizant of and act in compliance with all security protocols
    • Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers and management on a daily basis
    • Work with engineers to develop detailed and creative solutions to complex problems, while keeping a watchful eye on timelines and costs
    • Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow up
    • Execute predictive and preventive maintenance programs
    • Provide support for LSE, weather events, and planned, and unplanned outages
    • Document detailed, complete and legible descriptions of all repair operations performed
    • Accurately record time, expenses, and mileage
    • Ability to travel on occasion in an assigned region, and / or work overtime, weekends for emergency support.
    • Lift up to 50 lbs frequently; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 50 lbs.
    • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required.
    • Be able to climb ladders and stairwells in order to reach inspection areas.

    AWS is growing rapidly and we are seeking a Non-Destructive Testing Engineer to join for the Operations Services team. The team maintains critical equipment in support of providing best in class availability for our data center customers.

    The Non-Destructive Testing Engineer will work closely with both internal customers, external vendors as well as coordinate regional resources to facilitate smooth work execution.

    You will oversee the non-destructive testing of all data center critical systems including power distribution, mechanical, plumbing, building automation, structural, and all other equipment that supports the critical operation.

    To be successful in this role you should be highly autonomous, detail oriented, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have significant experience in supporting critical infrastructure.

    You will design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges. This role will showcase your independent contribution as well as offer the opportunity to work within multi-disciplinary teams.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical (Military / Trade School) Degree or equivalent experience
    • 3 years of relevant work experience in a critical environment
    • Understanding of optics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, and material science
    • Understanding of NFPA 70e guidelines
    • Experience managing vendor relationships

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Physics
    • 2 years of relevant work experience in a Non-Destructive Testing Discipline
    • Hold a ASNT level II or III certification in a Non-Destructive Testing Discipline
    • Licensed electrician
    • Team lead experience supporting data center operations environment
    • Sound understanding of electrical best practices, processes and tools
