Data Security Director oversees operations of a team responsible for protecting data from unauthorized users. Develops policies and procedures for identifying, reporting, and resolving security violations. Being a Data Security Director may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a top management. The Data Security Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. We are looking for a Data Security Architect. As part of the GRC team within Information Services department, the Data Security Architect will be responsible for facilitating risk management functions, and assessing controls in place to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of Texas Children’s IT ecosystem, and patient care. This position requires the ability to use industry frameworks / standards such as NIST, to develop and promote Information Security Strategic Plan, Information Security Policies, compliance with defined security policies, and lead remediation initiatives.
This role requires collaboration with departments outside of Information Services, to achieve compliance to regulatory and contractual standards such as HIPAA, PCI, JHACO, AFRMR etc. The individual will provide guidance on implementing preventative and detective controls, and assessing effectiveness of controls; facilitate internal / external assessments and audits; explain results, review findings and recommendations; and guide on remediation efforts. In addition, this role will support development of executive-level Cybersecurity reporting and metrics.
