    Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Systems Security Analyst 3 with a Top-Secret Clearance to support KDS and our government customer. This is a remote opportunity.

    Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
    • The Systems Security Analyst is responsible for providing security remediation support to address systems that are not compliant with current security best practices, policies, and standards.The Systems Security Analyst, with collaboration with other teammates will fill security requirement gaps for the overall lifecycle of both non-compliant systems and new systems. The team’s main objective is to advise application owners on how to mitigate application security issues quickly as well as document progress.
    • Security remediation support to address systems that are not compliant with current security best practices, policies, and standards. 
    • Collaboration with other teammates will fill security requirement gaps for the overall lifecycle of both non-compliant systems and new systems. 
    • Provide guidance on security as it relates to both on premises and cloud; software-as-a-service (SaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS). To include HHS security compliance requirements integration with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
    • Provide guidance on security as it relates to different architecture models: microservices, traditional application, data lake, date warehouse, and API.
    • Provide guidance on security as it relates to insider threats, zero-trust at the network, infrastructure, and application level.
    • Provide guidance on how security can be integrated with different technologies and methodologies more efficiently to help accelerate the process.
    • Engage system owners and program managers to understand their gaps and needs.
    • Provide a Weekly Status Report on activities for all assigned tasks to the ISSO Program Manager/COR.
    • Prepare and present Problem Reports using a method that shall highlight problem areas that require attention along with recommended corrective actions.
    • Provide guidance to ISSO PM about all Federal and DOJ requirements that affect IT security policies and procedures and perform documentation updates as necessary. 
    • Develop, organize, implement, and maintain an IT systems security awareness, role-based, and/or professional training program to ensure the security of all components of the DOJ infrastructure. 
    • Monitor various dashboards and scorecards to ensure DOJ ISSO compliance to set goals and targets. 
    • Develop and implement an agile and robust, yet streamlined, security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring methodology in compliance with Federal and DOJ requirements. 
    • Perform independent security assessment, verification, validation, authorization, and continuous monitoring on all existing and new systems and sites to determine compliance with Federal and DOJ system requirements.  Develop and maintain system security documentation for all existing and new information systems and sites in accordance with the approved DOJ Security Assessment, Authorization and Continuous Monitoring and Vulnerability Management policy and procedures. 
    • Perform preliminary security impact assessments and security scans on requests for change (RFC), and any other requests that support the change control/configuration management activities.
    • Keep abreast of and make recommendations for tools and techniques that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring program.
    Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent degree related area of study, AND at least 10 years in related experience
    • Must possess Security Certification.
    • Must possess or obtain a CISSP within the first 90 days.
    • Familiarity in these federal laws, regulations, and policies 
    • Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) of 2002
    • National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Standards
    • HHS Information Security and Privacy Policies
    • U.S. GAO - Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM)
    • Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)
    • Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM)
    • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA)

    This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time.  The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
