Additionally, Data Science Manager typically requires a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Data Science Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Data Science Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What you’ll be doing...

    As a Data Science Manager on the Consumer Digital Marketing and Base Management - Strategic Upgrade and Retention Team.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Identifying and recommending retention and upgrade opportunities within the Consumer base.

    • Working with a large dataset environment, solving complex technical problems with the assistance of other subject-matter specialists, and partnering with other teams to drive Verizon's initiatives.

    • Improving targets for various KPIs through personalized data driven recommendations. Identifying influenceable cohorts of customers and executing targeted marketing campaigns to drive desired outcomes.

    • Identifying business problems and developing analytic techniques to provide solutions to external teams.

    • Identifying opportunities, size potential gains, and present actionable plans.

    • Driving multiple technical and data-related projects of varying scopes and complexities.

    • Working with other business units within Verizon, vendors, and executives to represent and drive our organization's strategy.

    • Using data visualization and other data-gathering methods to either provide internal strategic direction or guide decisions for other teams.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

    • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

    • Experience in analytics, strategic marketing, planning, and financial analysis.

    • Experience working in SQL and working with large data sets.

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • Experience with data mining and visualization skills.

    • Experience with Data Warehousing or Teradata SQL.

    • Value Based Marketing / CRM experience.

    • Ability to create compelling narratives to influence decision makers.

    • Ability to build detailed and compelling financial business cases.

    • Presentation experience with executive leadership.

    • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and G Suite.

    • Code automation platform experience (BTEQ).

    • Tableau Desktop experience.

    If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $137,000.00 and $255,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
