Data Science Manager manages teams tasked with identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies found in big data sets and used to develop insights by performing extensive data analysis. Oversees the interpretation of results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining. Being a Data Science Manager manages the design and implementation of big data solutions for the organization. Uses extensive knowledge and research into big data tools to guide data scientists' adoption and use of new and existing tools. Additionally, Data Science Manager typically requires a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Data Science Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Data Science Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     About the position:

    Responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle: planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery.  Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators.  Manages day to day operations of the project.  Prepares and presents updates for senior management.

    Responsibilities:
    • Defines project scope, deliverables, timeline, and success criteria for enterprise-wide projects
    • Oversees execution of project deliverables alongside project team members
    • Creates and updates a dynamic project schedule throughout the project lifecycle
    • Identifies and escalates issues effectively; ensures contingency plans are in place
    • Identifies interdependencies with internal departments, consultants, and vendors
    • Manages appropriate resource allocation throughout the project lifecycle
    • Leads progress meetings with project team members
    • Routinely and succinctly provides project status to senior management and project sponsors
    • Optimizes project planning tools and technology to plan, develop, and monitor phases of planEnsures effective communication and change management principles are followed
    • Develops and maintains relationships with departmental and senior management
    • Ensures decisions, outcomes, and policies are appropriately documented and organized
    • Develops comprehensive project budget; monitors, tracks, and reports on related expenditures
    • Adheres and helps the team to adhere and comply with relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards
    • Provide continuous process improvementPerforms other duties as assigned


    What does a succcessful candidate look like?
    • 2 years in project management in the banking and financial sector or four years in project management or related work experience
    • Leadership and team management experience 
    • Strong time management skills
    • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
    • Strong analytical abilities
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • Ability to appropriately prioritize goals and tasksStrong attention to detail
    • Ability to manage staff when those individuals report to someone else organizationally
    • Must be a quick learner and highly adaptable to liaison with subject matter experts
    • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office suite with proficiency in Excel
    • Proficient in project management software solutions
    • Ability to keep executive management and the project team informed of the progress of the initiative
    • PMP Cert Preferred, not required


    Requirements:
    • Ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for sponsorship
    • Ability to work onsite at office in Little Rock, AR
