Data Science Director jobs in Missouri
Data Science Director establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and goals of the data science function. Provides strategic guidance and overall direction for analytical efforts. Being a Data Science Director determines the appropriate tools, techniques, staffing and methodologies to extract data that produces meaningful results. Uses extensive knowledge and research into big data tools to guide the integration of new and existing tools into the organization's data science tech stack. Additionally, Data Science Director typically requires a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Data Science Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Data Science Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Solis Applied Science is seeking Entry, Junior, Senior and Expert level Data Scientist professionals with experience focused on conducting GEOINT data and intelligence science. Positions will be located in Saint Louis, MO area.ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will also provide scientific services in support of GEOINT analysisWork under guidance of the senior GEOINT ScientistApply GEOINT Tools and capabilities to include ENVI, GXP Explorer, Socet GXP, SpecPy, IDL, and GISApply mathematical techniques to solve complex problems and develop quantitative based assessments to include statistical data analysis, knowledge discovery, and mathematical modelingCollect and analyze data from a variety of sources (experience with a variety of data formats, unique data sources, complex data, raw data)Provide/Support Subject Matter Expertise to project team members and the analytical cadreInteract with analysts, mission partners and others on analytical functionality and exploitation and related support toolsProvide database consultation, graphical data visualizations, and recommendations for quantitative data selection, intelligence collection & integrationRequired Skills
Qualifications
- Top Secret with SCI adjudication (Must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance with CI/Poly)
- Bachelor's degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, physical science, computer science and 8 years of related experience or 6 years with Master's or 3 years and PhD
- Knowledge and application expertise of some form of remote sensing
- Knowledge and application expertise in at least two GEOINT Tools and capabilities or equivalent
- Proficient in programming skills (VB, Python)
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Experience creating reports, Data Visual Aides, and project presentations
