    About the role

     

    The Sr. Data and Reporting Analyst - EPMO Administration is responsible for supporting the GPPM (Global Project Portfolio Management) program through various reporting and analytics initiatives for the EPMO Department. This team member ensures data quality, integrity, and accuracy of reporting while supporting reporting, dashboard creation, analysis and data gathering. This team member will work closely with the EPMO leadership to define appropriate portfolio metrics and will have a high level of understanding of how to produce accurate and meaningful metrics to deliver high quality, actionable, efficient, and interactive reporting to drive business decisions.

     

    This role requires a unique blend of strong communication skills, technical ability, and business acumen. Successful candidates will be able to elicit requirements for reporting needs and develop them into meaningful data visualizations for various stakeholders.

     

    Job Duties

    • Design, develop, and deliver analytic reports, data visualizations, and metrics which extract meaningful insights for senior leadership and cross-functional teams to create visibility into enterprise initiatives, resource demand and available capacity, project financials, strategic priority alignment and other EPMO metrics
    • Continually refine, enhance, and automate processes and reports utilizing BI/Dashboarding tools such as PowerBI and Planview
    • Support the development of dashboard front-end reporting capability for executive reporting that provides metric trending and analysis summarized for executive-level consumption
    • Create, implement, and manage tables/views in the PPM system of record, write SQL queries, review query performance, optimize code, perform data quality checks as well as data validation of all reports/analysis
    • Must be able to perform data collection processes, troubleshoot SQL code issues, filter/cleanse data, verify data integrity through QA, as well as maintain deep understanding of data and information resources
    • Contributes to EPMO initiatives
    • Maintains awareness of industry trends, practices, techniques, and emerging technologies related to the portfolio and project management discipline

    What makes you a dream candidate?

    • Highly skilled in data analytics and data visualization
    • Advanced computer skills, including, but not limited to SQL, MS Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, SharePoint, VBA, and MS PowerPoint
    • Deep understanding of SQL and Oracle database technology and design concepts
    • Experience and knowledge of the discipline of project portfolio management including common principles, methodologies and tools used by practitioners preferred
    • Advanced understanding of both waterfall project management and agile methodologies preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor the message based on the audience
    • Skilled at producing executive-level reports and/or training material using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent related work experience required; Master's Degree preferred
    • 4 years of experience in the following:
      • Relational databases and BI tools required
      • Designing and developing analytic reporting required
      • Identifying and developing metrics and KPIs required
      • Planview Portfolios or similar Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) tool preferred
      • Work item management tools (AgilePlace, Azure DevOps, Rally, Jira) preferred
