    Job Description:
    We are looking for a Director of Ontology and Data Modeling to join our team at Capital One. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise ontologies to support our data strategy. You will collaborate with various departments to develop domain ontologies and integrate semantic technology into our products and services.

    Responsibilities:
    - Use empathy and design thinking to define semantic solutions that provide breakthrough leverage for our customers
    - Stay updated with industry trends, emerging solutions, and changing customer and business needs to continuously evolve our semantic strategy
    - Identify new solutions or enhancements that drive sustainable value for Capital One by understanding the financial drivers and points of leverage within your domain
    - Foster a culture anchored in data, where modeling reality of intent and usage drives insights and manages the business tactically and strategically
    - Encourage agile discipline and continuous improvement within teams, ensuring delivery of valuable outcomes
    - Collaborate with Technology leaders to influence end-state architecture and develop secure, resilient, performant, and scalable technology solutions
    - Govern the responsible and efficient application of technology and modeling resources, reusing existing solutions and building with extensibility in mind
    - Establish a long-term semantics portfolio strategy, aligned with customer and business needs, and secure resources to overcome impediments
    - Attract and empower top Ontology and Data Modeling talent, supporting their development and ensuring iterative, outcome-focused delivery

    Basic Qualifications:
    - Bachelor's degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, or computational linguistics
    - At least 8 years of experience in a metadata field (ontology, taxonomy, semantics, or computational linguistics)
    - At least 8 years of experience or training in using W3C standards including linked and canonical data and ontologies (JSON, XML, RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SKOS)
    - At least 4 years of experience or training in ontology and linked data tools (Protégé, TopQuadrant, PoolParty, Stardog, AnzoGraph, Neptune, or Data.World)

    Preferred Qualifications:
    - Master's degree or PhD in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, or computational linguistics
    - 6 years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into enterprise semantic solutions
    - Familiarity with SQL or SPARQL
    - Familiarity with graph databases and technologies
    - Familiarity with Python or R
    - Familiarity with JSON, OpenAPI/YAML, AVRO
    - Familiarity with Agile principles, processes, and methodologies
    - Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
    - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
    - Strong reading and writing skills
    - Strong project management experience
    - Excellent communication skills

    Salary Range: The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are as follows:

    - New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $228,500 - $260,800
    - San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $242,100 - $276,300

    Please note that salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed-upon hours.
