    Responsibilities

    Under the direction of the Director of Applications in the Information Technology and Services department, the Data Analyst will develop and implement assigned data analysis and reporting requirements. This will enable BAMSI to make strategic decisions in order to provide a high level of quality services to those we serve. The Data Analyst will analyze data from various sources to identify patterns and trends that could aid BAMSI in making informed decisions. Applicants must be willing to travel for this hybrid position.

     

     

    • Participate in user requirements definition meetings in order to collect requirements from users and provide support and training for all users of the Electronic Health Record (eHR). Updates and refines training programs components based on user needs.• Develop, plan, and implement educational programs for staff based on needs assessments and other organizational goals and changes, including identifying and defining process improvements.• Work closely with stakeholders, including managers and business analysts. As part of their collaborative efforts, they collect requirements, understand business needs, and communicate the results of their research.• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and up to date. As part of their duties, the data analyst will develop and implement data quality management processes to ensure the integrity of the data.• Assist in identifying sources of data and information relevant to projects.• Interpret data, analyze results, and produce and present reports as requested.• Design, create, and maintain data models to represent complex relationships and hierarchies. These models are used to support the analysis of data and the formulation of decisions.• Using PowerBI, create charts, graphs, and dashboards to represent data visually. With the aid of these visualizations, stakeholders are able to gain a better understanding of complex data patterns and trends.• Assure the integrity of data including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing, and analysis.• Perform duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, agency policies and procedures (including safety standards and training requirements) and industry best practices.• Local travel by personal vehicle to perform duties and attend trainings/meetings as required. Perform other related work duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.• Five years of related professional work experience preferred.• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment, as well as excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.• Understanding of data management design and support.• Strong knowledge and understanding of Power BI, including data visualization and reporting.• Ability to take initiative on assignments and work independently or as a member of a team.• Experience in behavioral health care preferred.• The ability to synthesize, organize, analyze, and explain data analysis to a non-technical audience.• An ability to handle multiple projects and deliver products on time, as well as a willingness to understand and meet the needs of a wide variety of internal stakeholders.• Maintains absolute confidentiality of all agency data and other materials.• Must be highly self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.• Must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence, a good driving record, and own means• of reliable automobile transportation.• Ability to pass a background check, including a criminal background check.• Exposure to MassHealth system and understanding of behavioral health policy issues desired• Understanding of federal and state legislative, regulatory and policymaking processes.• Knowledge of health care billing and payment processes.• Ability to plan and facilitate user requirement meetings• Willing and able to provide structure and tight process management, and also able to prioritize listening and drawing out participation from key people in a meeting.
