Data Modeling Analyst develops data models to meet the needs of the organization's information systems. Manages the flow of information between departments through the use of relational databases. Being a Data Modeling Analyst maintains data integrity by working to eliminate redundancy. Stays informed of the ways the organization uses its data. Additionally, Data Modeling Analyst requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Data Modeling Analyst gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Data and Software Analyst

  • The Data and Software Analyst studies the software application domain, analyzes business and other data processing problems, and prepares software requirements and specifications documents. The Data and Software Analyst will examine, cleanse, transform, and model data to present to business owners and decision makers. This position acts as a liaison between end users and developers, and interacts directly with customers of all sizes as well as peers and members of other teams. This position will also perform the basic fundamentals and principles of software development.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
    • Support the development team by creating, troubleshooting, and implementing data entities as requested.
    • Analyze customer data ecosystems, making recommendations for security, efficiency and performance.
    • Troubleshoot customer data requests, including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Access and other data structures. This includes tabular and multidimensional data models.
    • Create meaningful reports and dashboards that allow internal and external stakeholders to make data driven decisions.
    • Review data trends and escalate deviations or areas of opportunity to managers and directors.
    • Assist in the Sales process by working with Software Architects and Developers to identify and document opportunities.
    • Work with Sales and Account Coordinators to create and deliver Statements of Work.
    • Understand and document complex business processes by working with key stakeholders throughout a project's life cycle.
    • Translate business requirements into specific, achievable goals for developers.
    • Work with developers to create translatable documentation surrounding complex software terminology.
    • Create and manage Features, User Stories, Work Items, Test Cases and more inside of Source Control and Project Management tools.
    • Create and deliver materials for project status meetings, project deliverable meetings and other client engagements.
    • Schedule, run and document Software retrospective meetings to ensure that lessons learned are documented.
    • Assist Software developers in troubleshooting complex issues through process and code review.
    • This position requires only little domestic/local travel to client sites.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field and a demonstrated ability in each of the following: Python or R, SQL Server or PostgreSQL, Statistical Modeling, Data Science, and Software Design. Demonstrated ability may be gained through academic coursework, internships and/or work experience.
    • This position requires only little domestic/local travel to client sites.
