    As a Data Analyst, Encounters at Umpqua Health, your role will be to analyze encounter data and ensure its accuracy and completeness. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality issues, as well as design and implement data validation processes. In addition, you will be responsible for preparing data reports and presentations, providing insights to internal teams, and working on various projects related to data management. The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong background in data analysis, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

    Your Impact:
    • Oversee validation and submission of encounter data to Oregon Health Authority (OHA) across multiple domains.
    • Investigate and resolve submission pends and errors with cross-functional teams and third-party administrators.
    • Develop strategies to reduce error occurrence and time-to-resolution.
    • Act as the primary subject matter expert for encounter data processes.
    • Research, analyze, and categorize various encounter types, responding to OHA reports as needed.
    • Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and government agencies to ensure data accuracy.
    • Create targeted reports to monitor data accuracy and timeliness.
    • Review claims data to identify trends for encounter data submission improvement.
    • Identify and correct encounter data errors with relevant stakeholders.
    • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and respond to OHA requests promptly.
    • Provide clear status updates to management and operations teams.
    • Support enrollment and premium reconciliation efforts, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.


    Your Credentials:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
    • 2 years of experience working with claims data in a healthcare setting
    • 2 years of experience with relational database administration and experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration. Experience must be current and relevant
    • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Capability to analyze complex business processes and systems.
    • No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare/Medicaid)
    • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office suite
    • Experience in considering impacts on diverse communities in technical analysis.
