Data Management Specialist creates, implements, and maintains master data management solutions that enable users to optimize system capabilities. Uses knowledge of end-to-end data processes to analyze, cleanse, and enrich master data elements, and ensure that data flows efficiently and consistently between users and stakeholders. Being a Data Management Specialist provides data governance and ensures data integrity by coordinating data management efforts across the organization. Troubleshoots issues related to master data management and identifies opportunities for improving data management processes. Additionally, Data Management Specialist requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Data Management Specialist work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Job Summary:
Data Management Specialist is responsible for guaranteeing the quality of data in the ERP through maintaining master data of items, customers, resources, vendors, bills of material and user roles and responsibilities. Access to sensitive information of customers, the business and / or employees requires adherence to company privacy rules and any applicable laws.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate datasets for consistency, completeness and accuracy prior to entry into ERP.
- Audit data on a regular basis and ensure data integrity.
- Perform data management activities in accordance with customer, company, contract and regulatory requirements.
- Develop process improvements for data management activities.
- Record completed data entry forms and requests as needed.
- Present data management updates at internal meetings.
- Generate data reports on periodic basis for management.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Education & Experience
- High School diploma
- College degree (preferred)
- Experience in a customer-service or administrative role addressing business process and customer needs within order execution process. (preferred)
- Skills & Abilities:
- Critical thinking skills: attention to detail to ensure accurate data input
- Highly organized
- Effective time-management
- Detail-oriented
- Oracle ERP or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
- Travel: less than 5%
- Lifting up to 20 pounds
