Data Management Director manages the planning, designing, and developing of an organization's databases. Develops policies and procedures to lead and manage a team of database engineers. Being a Data Management Director designs and modifies procedures to ensure the performance, scalability, and security of databases. Monitors and optimizes database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing. Additionally, Data Management Director evaluates existing database design to determine necessary updates and collaborates with stakeholders to determine future organizational needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Data Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Data Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Supervisor - Data System Management

  • What you’ll do:

    • Create and maintain templates used in setting up new and existing ePeGS grants.
    • Create and maintain various types of ePeGS system documentation and project plan.
    • Create status reports, presentations, and various communication memos as they relate to ePeGS projects, statistics, and major events in the federal/state grant management lifecycle.
    • Perform data entry and oversee new grant setup and maintenance of grants in ePeGS.
    • Perform data entry in other DESE web applications that interface with ePeGS, including, but not limited to Core Data, and Eligible Participant applications.
    • Perform outreach to DESE business section staff on issues affecting the ePeGS application.
    • Coordinate DESE meetings for communication, prioritization of ePeGS tickets, and other DESE/ITSD projects that may impact ePeGS.
    • Review, analyze, and enter tickets into Azure Dev Ops (ADO) for OA-ITSD to work on the ePeGS and Eligible Participants application.
    • Assist DESE business section staff and OA-ITSD with prioritization of the ADO ePeGS backlog of tickets.
    • Perform user acceptance testing in ePeGS and Eligible Participants and assist DESE business section staff and OA-ITSD with collaborative testing.

    All you need for success:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Three years of successful relevant work experience in help desk support, system development life cycle project work, education, or closely related employment.
