The accessioning team is responsible for beginning the journey of each sample that is received here at Doctor's Data.  From opening, sorting and assigning unique identifiers to each individual sample and test requisition so it can begin it's specific diagnostic testing.  Once all of the specimens have been labeled and delivered to the departments the team shifts its focus to data entry and auditing to ensure that their high level of accuracy is maintained.   If this sounds like a good fit for you apply today!   

Specimen Receiving

• Sort/Open specimen deliveries 
• Assign identifiers to each specimen and test requisition 
• Decontaminate all surfaces in specimen receiving rooms 
• Dispose of trash and bio-hazardous materials 
• Organization of work and storage areas 
• Assist technicians as needed

Data Entry 

• Enter data into computer LIS and check for missing or questionable data
• Audit entries for accuracy
• Audit and balance financial accounting for the day
• Review error reports and enter corrections
• Scan requisitions and check payments
• Prepare source documents
• Respond to inquiries regarding entered documents
• Assist Specimen Receiving as needed

Position Requirements

• HS or GED, laboratory /science experience preferred
• 2-years’ experience in medical/clinical data entry preferred
• Medical terminology background preferred
• Knowledge of office procedures
• Excellent keyboarding and numeric keypad proficiency 
• Typing 40 words per minute minimum with 97% accuracy - Required, verification via typing test
• Can demonstrate problem solving and communication skills
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence/memos 
• Ability to write simple correspondence 
• Physical demands include walking, use of step stool, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs 
• Good close vision and color vision required
• Ability to work overtime as required by business needs

Work Schedule: 

Week 1 : M, T, W, Th, F 7:30AM-4:00PM

Week 2: M,W,TH,F 7:30AM- 4:00PM SA 7:30AM-4:00PM

Based on business needs hours may change slightly.
