Data Center Director directs and optimizes all operations of a data center facility to ensure data performance, availability, and security. Designs operating procedures and policies for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and storage systems within a data center to maximize operational efficiency. Being a Data Center Director monitors environmental conditions to ensure optimal temperature, humidity, and power supply to prevent downtime and protect hardware from damage. Ensures timely, accurate, and consistent technical infrastructure service and presentation to internal and external clients. Additionally, Data Center Director coordinates with outside teams to identify and implement new systems to support existing and future business needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Data Center Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. ZT Systems Datacenter Technicians represent our company in front of our customers every day. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Scope: Respond to service tickets for ZT servers in customer datacenters in a timely manner Keep parts lockers up to date and properly stocked at all times Troubleshoot and triage server failures to determine the most efficient path to getting a server back online for the customer Track server fleet health and validate that ZT is always exceeding customer requirements for total servers online Provide consistent, detailed feedback to the ZT engineering team on failures, serviceability of servers, and integration with the datacenter Apply firmware and BIOS updates as needed using ZT engineering-approved tools Comply with all datacenter safety, security, and operational protocols at all times Be an outstanding representative of ZT Systems at all times JOB REQUIREMENTS Knowledge and skills: Ability to identify hardware failures and work within the limits of a defined process to get hardware running or replace entire servers Ability to regularly lift and move server systems that weigh up to 70lbs Fanatic attention to detail. Accuracy in inventory, trouble tickets, asset tag updates, wiring plans, etc. is essential to the customer and is critical to this role Must be able and willing to travel Linux terminal basic experience Windows CMD basic experience. Competencies Demonstrated strong ownership, self-motivation and ability to work autonomously Ability to work successfully with geographically dispersed teams MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Degree in a computer-related field. Bachelor's Degree preferred or 2 plus year of equivalent experience.
