Cytogenetic Technologist performs microscopic analysis for cytogenetic studies on biological specimens. Analyzes chromosomes for prenatal diagnosis, congenital birth defects, fertility problems and hematological disorders. Being a Cytogenetic Technologist is responsible for harvesting cells, image analysis, and results reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Cytogenetic Technologist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.     Schedule:  Monday through Friday, rotating Saturdays (every 4 weeks) Includes $3.00/HR Weekend SHIFT Differential 

     

    The Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures; reviews all necessary documentation related to the procedures and performs related clinical and administrative duties.

     

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Demonstrated interest in meeting patient needs and assuring patient satisfaction.
    • Operating knowledge of radiographic equipment.
    • Performs all diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures within assigned area, including Mammography.
    • Reviews all necessary documentation to perform diagnostic procedures.
    • Performs preventative visual and manual inspections for each radiographic room/equipment assigned ensuring appropriate maintenance and cleanliness.
    • Performs related clinical and clerical duties associated with the patient procedure.
    • Assists in the managing of the radiographic procedures through the coordination of resources, to facilitate optimal efficiency.  Assures that the procedures performed are in accordance with policies and procedures.
    • Performs warm up calibration procedures necessary to ready the equipment for patient imaging.
    • Assists in the procurement of all necessary supplies.
    • Informs the supervisor of any equipment needing repair to insure prompt service.
    • Contributes to a positive climate and open communication for a team approach.

    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team work skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced, customer oriented highly professional environment.
    • Ability to establish and maintain mutually supportive, productive working relationships with colleagues, staff, and physicians.
    • Proven record of taking direction professionally from other medical personnel.

    Demonstrated ability to learn on the job.

     

    Educational Requirements:

    • College degree preferred
    • ASRT (RT)(R)(M) and CT State License required
