Customer Service Supervisor supervises a staff of customer service representatives that respond to requests from customers by phone, e-mail, or chat. Manages the daily workload to ensure required service volume and quality levels are attained. Being a Customer Service Supervisor trains and coaches staff in standard policies, procedures, and best practices. Identifies opportunities for operational improvements and implements solutions. Additionally, Customer Service Supervisor monitors and evaluate staff performance. Responds to escalated issues to facilitate solutions. May provide direct customer support for complicated or critical issues. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Customer Service Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Customer Service Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Markel Corporation (NYSE MKL), a global insurance holding company, is adding to the Customer Service team to better service Markel customers! We’re currently seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSRs) who would like to increase their insurance knowledge and build their skills while making a positive impact on Markel’s customers.

    We provide exceptional customer service through our simple processes, honest communications and employee expertise.

    Responsibilities include :

    • Work diligently to find resolution to customer concerns and escalate to appropriate level when necessary.
    • Convey information efficiently, effectively, and appropriately in order to meet the needs of the customer.
    • Strive for first call resolution in order to provide best in class service.

    CSRs are required to stay current and knowledgeable of all procedures to ensure department standards and guidelines are meet, which include : Schedule Adherence, Quality Assurance, First Contact Resolution, Average Talk Time, Average Handle Time, Average Speed of Answer and Coding.

    Qualifications / Skill sets :

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
    • Dedicated to providing a positive customer experience
    • Communicate clearly and professionally over the phone
    • Strong technical background / ability to multi-task in several systems at once
    • Willingness to learn new material and systems / applications
    • Accountable and reliable
    • Bilingual required (English / Spanish)

    Requirements :

    • Property & Casualty Insurance license highly preferred
    • High school diploma or equivalent; some college is a plus!
    • 1 or more years of prior customer service experience preferred
    • Demonstrated job stability and attendance records
    • Solid computer, grammar and multi-tasking skills
    • Comfort with a high-volume service center

    Benefits Included : Immediate health & dental benefits, paid vacation and holidays, a 401k match, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement policy, hybrid working environment (3 days onsite and 2 days working from home), paid training onsite - up to 4 weeks and $1000 retention bonus paid out after six months with restrictions.
