Customer Service Supervisor supervises a staff of customer service representatives that respond to requests from customers by phone, e-mail, or chat. Manages the daily workload to ensure required service volume and quality levels are attained. Being a Customer Service Supervisor trains and coaches staff in standard policies, procedures, and best practices. Identifies opportunities for operational improvements and implements solutions. Additionally, Customer Service Supervisor monitors and evaluate staff performance. Responds to escalated issues to facilitate solutions. May provide direct customer support for complicated or critical issues. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Customer Service Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Customer Service Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     We are searching for a Service Supervisor to join our growing operations at our Alexandria, Louisiana location.


    YOU

    The Shop Supervisor coordinates service department activities to provide prompt service to customers and other departments by working with the technicians to drive accountability by being a guide, a resource for information, and a mentor.


    YOUR CONTRIBUTION

    • Lead the execution of work throughout the service shop with a sense of urgency.
    • Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship.
    • With the Service Manager and Coordinator, Organize, prioritize, schedule, and assign work in the department to optimize department productivity daily.
    • At the beginning of each job, will go over the specifics of the job with the technicians, pointing out any special areas of safety, quality, and allotted time requirements.
    • Sign off on all JSA’s in the service shop.
    • Monitor department work in progress to ensure jobs are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
    • Keep current on service, repair, and modification procedures for all brands and models of products assigned to the department.
    • Perform service and repair activities as needed to ensure department productivity.
    • Assist the service manager in customer relations issues as needed.
    • Provide technical support and assistance for all department activities.
    • Provide on-the-job technical training to department technicians as needed and make recommendations for formal training activities for department technicians.
    • Oversee the inventory and maintenance of department tools, equipment, and supplies.

    MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS

    • REQUIRED: High School Diploma
    • REQUIRED: 3 years or more of management experience
    • REQUIRED: 5 years or more of experience as an automotive or equipment Shop Technician
    • REQUIRED: Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • REQUIRED: Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
    • REQUIRED: Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
    • HIGHLY PREFERRED: Knowledge or experience with Caterpillar equipment or equipment product lines

    JOB FACTS

    • Schedule is Monday - Friday 7am – 5pm
    • Time will be split as 90% on the shop floor and 10% in the office
    • 10 Hour workday to include tool box talk & end of shift review with Service Manager & Coordinator
