    Segment Manager – Automotive (Japan)
    To support the new strategy of our Sales organization in APAC, we are looking for a Market Segment Manager for Automotive. In this business development role you will be accountable for the regional revenue growth strategy in Automotive in your region in alignment with the market segment strategy and in alignment with the other functions of the regional Sales organization including the Head of Global Application Marketing. Your key objective is to develop a strong design-in funnel comprising of both hardware and services.
    The Segment Manager builds credibility with the accounts based on excellent knowledge of the application requirements, competition, archiecture and all u-blox products. He/She will be able to engage and influence certain automotive OEMs to engage with customers to identify the customer problem and propose the right solution for the customer, to identify and analyze new segments including the identification of key players and to contribute with his/her knowledge to the global market segment consolidation and overall strategy. He/she will support Key Account Manager (KAM) within their accounts and Channel Managers to educate our distribution partners. The segment manager however will also build and drive the opportunity funnel with new focus accounts where no KAM has been assigned.
    This is a position which reports to Country Manager. As part of our matrix organization, you will be functionally reporting to the Head of Global Application Marketing and you will work in close relationship not only with the KAM and Channel Team but also with our Product Centers (Product Strategy & R&D) to ensure a close internal alignment about our sales and growth strategy in Automotive market. In this respect your excellent interpersonal skills will help you to succeed.
    This is a unique opportunity to build up and shape a new function and to have a strong impact on the business growth of a well-recognized tech company.
    The role can be located in Japan, and requires regular regional travel.
    Your Key Responsibilities
    • Define business development strategy for automotive business in your region.
    • Contribute to achieving growth target of regional sales by:
      • Influencing OEMs via early engagement thanks to u-blox solutions.
      • Defining along with your management the regional growth strategy and aligning the related market segment budget target (KPIs defined by market segment, by key accounts)
      • Implementing the agreed strategy by reaching the budget target in Automotive business.
      • Drive a strong design in funnel for your segment
    • Establish direct contact and relationships with target key customers for solutions-based promotions and seek feedback on products and (future) customer requirements
    • Drive the customer feedback into the product roadmaps in close alignment with the Global Head of Application Marketing
    • Provide competition analysis in your region
    • Establish thought leadership in your geographical area by positioning and articulating the value proposition of multiple u-blox products in an application.
    Skills and Experience
    • Deep technical understanding. Degree in electrical engineering with several years of experience in hardware and/or software engineering.
    • Good knowledge and network in automotive industry
    • Minimum 10 years of working experience in the semi-conductor industry.
    • Proven business/sales marketing experience with regional responsibility, with direct contact and relationship to key accounts, especially in automotive industry.
    • Proven track record in driving new business ideas and in winning automotive customers.
    • A problem solver and strive for quality while achieving results.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with he ability to find ways and to perform in a matrix environment.
    • Proficient in English communication skills.
    • Additional Degree in business administration of marketing is benefit.
